Police allege the boys were armed with knives when they arrived at a pre-arranged meeting with two 18-year-old men on Northgate Street.

They claim the boys then threatened the two men and that during an altercation, one of the 18-year-old was stabbed in the stomach. The other, they allege, sustained slash wounds to his wrists and thigh.

Police say one of the boys grabbed a bag of Cannabis from the car and then took off.

It was information from members of the public who saw the boys in the vicinity of Karrinyup Shopping Centre with knives, that helped police track them down.

“Several police units including detectives, Canine Unit and Police Air Wing were deployed to the area,” a police spokesperson said.

The two men are still in a critical condition at Royal Perth Hospital.

The boys, one from Doubleview and one from Karrinyup, were each charged with aggravated armed robbery and grievous bodily harm.
