ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men’s basketball team was honored as one of the recipients of the 2023-24 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court on Monday, July 15, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by collegiate men’s basketball teams and student-athletes.
As a team, Elon received the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, which recognizes men’s basketball programs that completed the 2023-24 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Phoenix was one of six teams from the CAA (Campbell, Hofstra, Northeastern, Stony Brook and Towson) honored for their success in the classroom and one of over 360 programs nationally.
Elon also saw Zac Ervin named to the NABC Honors Court. Ervin was one of 2,100 players who earned a spot on the Honors Court, which includes junior, senior and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2023-24 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
