KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Thursday its Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court for the 2023-24 season. The Idaho men’s basketball team received recognition for outstanding academic team achievement, with five Vandals chosen for the Honors Court.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men’s basketball programs that completed the 2023-24 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court distinction includes junior, senior, and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2023-24 academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better.
Quinn Denker (Communications), Terren Frank (General Studies), Jack Hatten (Communications), Julius Mims (Psychology) and EJ Neal (Organizational Sciences) were all selected as Honors Court members.
It was a record-setting year in the classroom for the Vandals, as the team earned their best GPA mark in program history with a 3.24 in the Fall of 2023. Additionally, eight student-athletes were named to the Big Sky All-Academic Team this May.
