A press event between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler was postponed.

Michael Chandler has broken his silence after the UFC 303 press event with Conor McGregor was abruptly cancelled.

McGregor and Chandler were due to come face-to-face at a pre-fight press conference ahead of their welterweight showdown at UFC 303.

A media event, which was open to the public, was scheduled to take place on Monday at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

However, the UFC 303 pre-fight presser between McGregor and Chandler was mysteriously postponed.

Combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani shed light on the UFC media event cancellation and insists the fight is still ON.

McGregor himself released a statement, claiming a ‘series of obstacles’ stopped the presser from taking place.

On X, he wrote: “In consultation with the UFC, todays press conference was cancelled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control.

“I apologise to my Irish fans, and fans around the world, for the inconvenience and appreciate all your passion and support. I can’t wait to put on the greatest all-time show in the Octagon.”

Chandler also shared his thoughts on the sudden cancellation as he referenced a quote by Martin Luther King.

“‘The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy,’ Martin Luther King Jr. #UFC303,” he tweeted.

“Walk On… See you at the top.”

UFC 303 will take place on June 29 and will mark McGregor’s first Octagon outing since July 2021 when he suffered a crushing defeat to Dustin Poirier.

He’s currently on a two-fight losing skid and hasn’t won a UFC bout since his 40-second drubbing of Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 back in January 2020.

As for Chandler, he’s also coming off a defeat to Poirier. He’s 2-3 in the UFC since joining the MMA leaders.
