Chelsea Academy graduate Michael Golding has completed a permanent transfer to Premier League side Leicester City.
The midfielder joined the Blues as an Under-12 and represented our youth teams with distinction. Golding’s performances for Chelsea also earned him international recognition between the Under-15 and Under-18 age groups.
He skippered the England side that competed in the Under-17 European Championship in the summer of 2023 and later that year played three times at the U17 World Cup. He has more recently featured for England Under-18s.
With Chelsea, Golding appeared 21 times for our Under-21s in 2023/24 and was also part of the side that won the southern section of the Under-18 Premier League.
The highlight of Golding’s season arrived in January, when he came off the bench towards the end of our FA Cup third round win against Preston North End at Stamford Bridge. His senior debut was deserved reward for many successful years in our Academy.
