Minjee Lee WITB For 2024 U.S. Women’s Open: Australian Pro’s Golf Bag Explored

Must read

The Australian golfer Minjee Lee set a record by becoming the youngest golfer to win the WA Amateur Open when she was still a 9th grader, at the age of 14. This 9th-ranked golfer, Lee, has 10 LPGA wins under her belt and another two Ladies European wins. After she gave much competition to Nelly Korda and Caroline Masson at the Taiwan Swinging Skirts LPGA in 2019, her reputation was on the rise once again.

Minjee Lee has been on the Top 10 list 72 times in her career. With a final score of 7-under, Lee was ranked T7 at the 2024 Cognizant Founders Cup. When she won the 2021 Evian Championship and the 2022 US Women’s Open, she had a majority of Srixon and Cleveland clubs in her bag. But this February, Lee decided to change what’s in her bag completely. Don’t you want to take a peek? Let us dive right in.

Minjee Lee stated, “I’m thrilled to be joining the Callaway Staff, and I’m excited to see how their equipment will help my performance going forward.” She also remarked, “They’re the most played club brand on the LPGA, so I’ve seen how good the product is and how much it’s helped my brother take his game to the next level.”

Lee uses a Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond Driver that ensures a strong performance from off-center hits. With a length of 45.75″ and 8° (RH only) 9° & 10.5° Loft, this driver gives much strength along with the classic smoky 360 carbon look. Retailing for $449.99 at present, the drive also provides a grip of Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 50G and has a Mitsubishi Diamana DF 50 R shaft.

For her Fairway Wood, Lee also uses the range of Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond along with the default grip. It is priced at $349.99 and offers 15° and 18° left-handed lofts, with an additional 21° for the right hand. A little shorter than the driver, with a length of 43.25″, this Fairway Wood gives better control for short and narrow-ranged, tighter holes for precise accuracy. It has Fujikura Ventus Red 6-R shafts.

For her hybrid, she again uses another Callaway Paradym, Ai-Smoke. With a loft of 21°, this hybrid comes with a Graphite Design Tour AD HY 85 shaft. It is retailing for $279.99 at the moment and is preferred by “players with average to faster swing speeds.”

When it comes to her irons, Minjee chose the Callaway Apex CB Iron. Considered the “most usable player’s iron on the market” by the National Club Golfer, this iron helps bring heightened control to the greens. Priced at $ 1,505.00 Minjee uses 5-PW, which is a set of six irons with SteelFiber i-80 stiff shafts. It also has a considerable loft range of up to 7 iron lofts.

Minjee Lee’s preferred golf ball, wedges, and putter

Glad to have joined the Callaway brand for her golf equipment, Lee has an outstanding compliment for their Chrome Tour Ball. She previously stated, “Now that I’ve had a chance to try their new driver and the Chrome Tour Ball, I feel confident in my setup, and I know that this is the right decision for me.” And she precisely uses this golf ball with a low long-game spin and a high short-game spin. For a 4-piece set, it is being sold at $54.99.

With her wedges, Lee chose Callaway Jaws Raw Wedges, costing $179.99 each. She uses Nippon NS Pro 950 for her shafts and has varying lofts, including 50°, 54°, and 58°. The wedge range offers 17 distinct lofts and bounce options for golfers to choose the one that suits them the best.

Minjee Lee’s putter of choice, on the other hand, is Odyssey Ai-One Milled Two T. The new AI technology made black contours, which helped in better control of the greens, as claimed by the official retailers. It would cost $449.99 and provide a range of shafts from 33 inches to 36 inches. Compared to her earlier putters in the Scotty Cameron range, the AI technology might bring about a better performance on the golf course.

What do you think of Lee’s transformation to this AI-technologically advanced golf kit? Let us know if you think this kit would help her win the upcoming US Open women’s championship, a title she won two years ago.
