Motorola has unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the Razr 50 Ultra, in India. This new addition to Motorola’s lineup, which follows the Razr 40 Ultra from last year, boasts several impressive upgrades and aims to compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Flip6.
The Razr 50 Ultra features a larger 4-inch cover display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. With an IPX8 rating, it promises water resistance, and its 4,000mAh battery supports both wired and wireless charging. The Razr 50 Ultra was initially introduced in China and select global markets last month, alongside the more budget-friendly Razr 50 model.

The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is a dual-SIM device (Nano SIM + eSIM) running on Android 14. It sports a 6.9-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,640 pixels) LTPO pOLED inner display, featuring a 165Hz refresh rate, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a pixel density of 413ppi. The cover display is a 4-inch (1,080×1,272 pixels) LTPO pOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and a Vegan leather coating on the rear. The frame is constructed from aluminium, adding to its premium feel.

It includes a dual outer camera configuration with a 50-megapixel main sensor that supports optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. Additionally, there is a 32-megapixel camera on the inner display. The camera system is equipped with various AI-powered tools like an action engine, auto smile capture, and gesture capture to enhance photography and video recording.
Powering the Razr 50 Ultra is a 4,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse charging. The phone comes with a 68W charger. It measures 73.99 x 171.42 x 7.09mm when opened and 73.99 x 88.09 x 15.32mm when closed, and weighs 189 grams.
For connectivity, the Razr 50 Ultra includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It features three microphones and offers a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication, complemented by a software-based face unlock feature. Other sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, and proximity light sensor. Its IPX8 rating ensures durability against water exposure.
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra: Pricing and Availability
In India, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra has been launched for Rs. 99,999 for the model with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It is available in three colour options: Midnight Blue, Spring Green, and Peach Fuzz. The phone will be available for purchase during the Amazon Prime Day 2024 sale, set for July 20 to July 21, and through Motorola’s website, leading retail stores, including Reliance Digital.
Motorola is offering an early bird discount of Rs. 5,000, bringing the effective price down to Rs. 94,999. Additionally, customers can avail of an instant bank discount of Rs. 5,000 on payments made through select bank cards. No-cost EMI options start at Rs. 5,000 per month. There are also bundled offers from Jio to sweeten the deal.
