Half-time stats
HT: Boston 54, Dallas 51
Boston has a slim lead despite shooting just three of 15 from the three-point line and allowing Luka Doncic 23 points for the half.
Jrue Holiday has stepped up when the Celtics needed him with 17 points in this first half while Brown and Tatum have produced just 13 points between them although Tatum also have eight assists.
The Mavs will take confidence from finding ways to get more assists to role players like Derrick Jones jnr, Josh Green and their bigs. If they can’t get shots for those players, they will surely lose.
Mavs offence growing but game still tight
Doncic has started to find his lob passes again hooking up with Jones jnr for their first alley-oop of the finals.
But Jrue Holiday and the Celtics keep finding ways to score.
Tatum, Brown struggling
The Celtics big stars are struggling but they are still tied with the Mavs.
DAL 42, BOS 42 with three mins to go in Q2.
Celtics battle shooting woes
Boston are shooting just two of 13 from the three-point line in this first half.
The Celtics are not shy and they will not stop shooting the long ball.
But it is a concern that they are not making their open shots so far.
Josh Green just got a lay-up after Derrick Jones jnr kept the ball alive.
Jones jnr followed that by coming up with a layup and foul on Tatum.
DAL 42, BOS 40 with five mins to go in Q2.

Exum gets a look in
Dante Exum has been thrown in for the start of the second quarter.
He is clearly under orders to push the pace for Dallas and is doing that.
The other order is to find Luka at every opportunity as he is already up to 20 points after making a fade away in front of Jaylen Brown.
Big trouble for the Celtics if they can’t get a handle on the Slovenian superstar.
DAL 35, BOS 33 with eight mins to go in Q2.
