NFL Fans All Think That Brandon Aiyuk Lost Leverage After Injury To Teammate Receiver – Gridiron Heroics

Must read

NFL fans have all come out on social media thinking the same thing amidst the mess at wide receiver that has taken place today for the San Francisco 49ers. Hours after Brandon Aiyuk had officially requested a trade from the team, another receiver now has been reported to have suffered an injury. This led to fans thinking some major moves will happen now.

NFL Fans Think Brandon Aiyuk Will Not Get The Trade He Wants

NFL Network reported that Aiyuk had requested a trade earlier today once he did not get a long term extension from the team. While many teams have reportedly tried to open trade talks with the 49ers, most notably the New England Patriots, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team has told everyone that they have absolutely zero intentions of trading the star receiver.

If they were to trade their top receiver that would certainly open the door for a huge role for rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall. The only issue with that is the No. 31 overall pick was placed on the non football injury list later on the same day. This was just a very bad chain of events for the 49ers for the receiver room.

Fans are all now thinking that Pearsall’s injury means that San Francisco will not trade Aiyuk this summer no matter what. The team still has a wide open Super Bowl window as they were plays away from winning it last year. They will need Brandon in full form this season, especially with the early injury to Pearsall.

“Brandon Aiyuk is getting back some negotiating leverage,” a fan claimed. “Especially if this Pearsall injury is a little more serious [than] they are letting on.”

“With Ricky Pearsall hurt Brandon Aiyuk ain’t leaving,” a fan predicted.

“I was thinking Aiyuk’s trade request came off as a desperate attempt for any bit of leverage possible before training camp (could still be true), but with the Pearsall injury news breaking… if it’s anything serious BA might actually have gotten the leverage he was grasping for,” a fan wrote.

Anything Can Still Happen

While the bulk of fans are correct in the sense that Aiyuk lost some leverage because of the injury, the team can still activate Pearsall any time throughout camo. There is also no information on the injury just yet so it’s much too early to know whether or not this will have any implications on the teams willingness to trade the disgruntled star.

Aiyuk has clearly been fundamental in the team’s offense especially with his counterpart Deebo Samuel suffering many injuries throughout the seasons based on his rumbling playing style. However, the team drafted a receiver with their first pick because they know Brandon’s time in San Francisco is coming to a close.

While there are many teams who will pursue a trade hard, the 49ers obviously have tons of the power in this situation. This may end up going into the season before something gets worked out, unless a team offers a trade package that the 49ers just can’t turn down.
