Must read

During the month-long break before training camp, NFL players often tackle tasks they’ve been putting off, and Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs is no exception.

On Tuesday morning, Gibbs underwent the challenging procedure of getting his wisdom teeth removed. Instead of quietly recovering, he decided to entertain his fans by going live on Instagram, streaming his ride home and sharing the post-surgery experience in real time.

Going live to over 263,000 followers right after anesthesia isn’t usually advisable, but Gibbs pulled it off with style.

Gibbs struggled to talk, which is understandable after such a procedure. Despite that, he treated his fans to an lip-syncing performance, grooving along to Usher and other hits blasting in the background. The Detroit Lions running back turned his recovery ride into a mini-concert, much to the delight of his followers.

Everyone who managed to join the Instagram Live was thoroughly entertained by the charm and humor Gibbs brought to the show. The comments were flowing as fans couldn’t stop laughing at his impromptu performance. Attempting to imitate Usher with sensual moves, Jahmyr gave a hilariously rocking performance. Even under the effects of anesthesia, he put on a show that had everyone in stitches, missing the mark on truly sensual moves but nailing the comedy.

Throughout the concert, the Detroit Lions player remained in character, steadfastly keeping the ice pack on to aid in reducing swelling from his wounds.

Gibbs has been sidelined from spring practices due to a soft-tissue injury. Despite the setback, head coach Dan Campbell assures fans that Gibbs will be ready for training camp next month.
