A royal family member has shared a fresh update on their cancer prognosis after battling the deadly disease twice in the space of a year.
A new “bombshell” royal biography about Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson is set to take a deep dive into the pair’s personal lives, according to skynews.com.au digital reporter Reilly Sullivan.
Esteemed royal biographer Andrew Lownie spoke to Sky News Australia where he confirmed there will be many things in his book that will shock people.
“He said that basically he is going to take a very magnifying glass to Prince Andrew’s role when he was a trade envoy for the UK,” Mr Sullivan told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
“He was interested to see if the Duke of York was lining his pockets while he was working as a trade envoy.”
The biographer also told Sky News Australia the “gloves are off” with Fergie as well.
“He is going to be looking into her history of charity and whether she has been using her role as a patron for charities to line her own pockets,” Mr Sullivan added.
Ferguson, 64, underwent a single mastectomy and reconstructive surgery in June last year and later revealed her prognosis was “good”.
In a cruel twist, Fergie’s breast cancer diagnosis was followed by a skin cancer diagnosis months later after doctors discovered malignant melanoma, which was also successfully treated.
Her dermatologist found the melanoma while analysing several moles that were removed during the earlier procedure last June.
Following her skin cancer treatment in January, the mother-of-two said that while everything is currently fine, she still can’t claim to be “cancer-free”.
“Two cancer diagnoses within the space of a year was obviously a shock,” the Duchess of York told Bella magazine in a candid new interview published on Tuesday.
“In such a situation, you certainly face your mortality and it has been somewhat of an annus horribilis. But right now, I feel fit and well.
“My doctors tell me I can’t use the term ‘cancer-free’ and I am having regular check-ups, but there seems to be no spread of either the breast cancer or melanoma, which is good news.

“So I’m not entirely out of the woods, but I’m a resilient person and I am hugely positive about the future.”
The Duchess of York also revealed that the royal family had been “enormously” supportive amid her cancer battle.
“The wider family has also been enormously supportive and I’m very grateful,” she said.
Notably, Ferguson’s former brother-in-law King Charles and her niece Princess Catherine are both currently battling cancer.
The update comes as Ferguson has noticeably re-entered the royal fold in recent times, including attending the Easter Mattins service with the rest of the royal family for the first time since 1991.
Fergie, who still lives with her ex-husband Prince Andrew at Royal Lodge, is also once again included in the royal family’s Christmas celebrations at Sandringham decades are divorcing Andrew in 1996.
