Nottingham Forest have signed towering goalkeeper Carlos Miguel from Brazilian club Corinthians.
The 25-year-old, who is 6ft 8in tall, has moved to the Premier League on a four-year contract.
The Brazilian began his senior career with Internacional and had spells on loan with Santa Cruz and Boa Esporte before signing for Corinthians in 2021.
He joins two-time European champions Forest after establishing himself in Corinthians’ starting line-up, making 14 appearances during the 2024 season.
“I’m really happy and honoured to represent this club,” said Carlos Miguel, who becomes one of the tallest players in the league’s history.
“My main objective is to become an important member of this team, a giant club in the history of football. I want a place in the museum like the others.”
Forest signed one of his former team-mates, defender Murillo, from Corinthians last summer.
“I asked him about the club and also the city,” said Carlos Miguel. “He said great things and was exuberant about this club, which made me really happy.
“It was really important, coming genuinely from a friend who moved here from Brazil, on his own for a new challenge the way he did.
“He only had good things to say, I trust him and believe this is the place for me.”
Corinthians said Forest activated a termination clause in Carlos Miguel’s contract to secure his signing.
