Only TWO dry weekends in Perth so far this winter

Must read

Four out of six weekends this winter in Perth have been ruined by rain and were about to make it five out of seven.

For the many 9-5 workers who hold out for sunny weekends, it has been quite a weary winter, and things don’t seem to be looking up.

While rain can be nice on a Monday when most people are busy in the office, it is a different story when rain is forecasted on Saturday, just in time for lunch at the pub with mates.

A chicken parmy and a pint doesn’t quite taste the same when its served with a side of grey clouds and thunder.

The first weekend in June kicked off the winter season with a whopping 43.2 mm of rain on Sunday, June 2 alone, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The second weekend in June lightened the load with a small total of 5.2 mm for the entire weekend. While this is a much lesser statistic, it does still make you want to skip the daily dog walk.

Socialising would have been at the top of everyone’s to-do list during the third weekend of June, as Perth was blessed with not a drop of rain.

The 9-5ers finally caught a break and soaked up some much-needed vitamin D before the fourth weekend rolled in, along with 3.2 mm of rain on Saturday, June 22.

The final weekend in June was the second chance for weekday workers to let their hair down and enjoy the outdoors on their scarce off days.
