Must read

CCTV has captured the moment an axe-wielding robber smashed his way into an op shop before fleeing with stolen jewellery in Perth’s south.

Detectives from Mandurah’s Rapid High Harm Offenders Response Team want the public to help them in tracking down a man who broke into the Good Sammy’s store on Meares Avenue, Kwinana on Friday, about 3.20am.

Police say the man — who is captured on security cameras wearing dark clothing and wielding a weapon, believed to be a tomahawk — smashed his way into the store before fleeing with several pieces of jewellery.

After smashing through glass to gain entry, the man can be seen tripping over mannequins as he makes his way to the counter before shoving various items into a plastic container.
