MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said around 20,000 direct and indirect jobs may be generated with the opening of a new high-end hotel in Parañaque City.
Marcos said this in his speech during the ceremonial opening of the Grand Westside Hotel of Megaworld Corporation in Parañaque City on Saturday.

He added that Megaworld, a developer of hotels and other tourism-related establishments around the country, has proven to be the government’s “true partner in national development and a great builder of dreams and sustainable communities in our society.”
The new hotel has a capacity of 1,530 rooms, which is targeted to accommodate the increasing number of tourists visiting Metro Manila.
Dubbed the biggest hotel in the Philippines, Marcos also said that it will help make Entertainment City “better known and even more distinguished.”
Meanwhile, Marcos expressed excitement as Alliance Global Group, Inc. President Kevin Tan hinted about the upcoming Grand Opera House, additional theaters, and a gaming complex, which could generate more jobs for Filipinos.

“With all these, we foresee not only the entry of more tourists but also the generation of more jobs, of new businesses, and of greater opportunity,” Marcos said.
“Indeed, all of us share the desire to raise sustainable, complete, [and] well-rounded communities that even the next generations can enjoy. With the seal of quality stamped wherever the name Megaworld appears — be it condominiums, malls, or office buildings — I’m confident in the lasting and powerful outcome of your work and these collaborations,” he added.
