COLUMBUS (WRBL) — The Pacelli Vikings made history back in March, when both the boys and girls Basketball teams won state titles. Both of which were the first time in program history. This marked the end of an eight year journey for the program. When Athletic Director Corry Black took over, the Boys team went 0-22. Eight years later, the Vikings are state champions.
The team celebrated this historic accomplishment by having a championship ring ceremony on Thursday. The players, coaches, and even some of the team’s closest supporters were given rings. WRBL spoke with Head Coach Corry Black, and players on the team, about the ceremony.
