Paige Spiranac has no patience with golf haters. The professional golfer turned influencer is usually quite friendly with her fans and detractors alike. However, when someone attacks one of her friends, she doesn’t hesitate to come to their defense, just like she did for Bryson DeChambeau.
Spiranac is one of the biggest influencers in golf. The presenter and model is a constant presence on social media, with accounts on the top platforms that attract crowds of followers.
The most common thing is for the golfer to share tips to improve your game by wearing revealing outfits. She also frequently discusses the latest events in the world of golf, such as Brandel Chamblee’s most recent interview with newly crowned US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau.
However, this time, Spiranac showed her discontent with the malicious comments of Chamblee, who is known for his feud with DeChambeau.
Paige’s anger
DeChambeau delivered a phenomenal performance on Course No. 2 at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club to claim his second US Open title. The proud champion secured the victory with 274 strokes, six under par, with a masterful short game that gave him an advantage over his closest pursuer, Rory McIlroy.
Despite DeChambeau’s demonstration, Chamblee attributed his victory to good luck, and that made Spiranac explode. “Brandel saying ‘good fortune’ is why Bryson won the US Open is wild,” the influencer lamented on her X, formerly Twitter, account and finished, “Doesn’t even try to hide his hatred for him. Smh (shaking my head).”
Users of the platform agreed with Spiranac. “Brandel Chamblee hates Bryson DeChambeau. It’s beyond unprofessional. I pray an NBC producer gets in his ear and says, ‘You know you’re making it obvious, right?'” commented one of her followers.
“No one worried about what Brandel says anymore. This is a popular win, and he knows it,” said another user, while one more added, “Brandel shouldn’t be allowed to be on another golf telecast ever again. It was pathetic and very very difficult to listen to.”
She also defended McIlroy
Rory McIlroy, who never recovered from a poor second round, left the course just before DeChambeau’s winning shot and left the Pinehurst facility without stopping to speak to the media.
Criticism rained down on the Irishman, but Spiranac immediately came to his defense. “Hot take, but I don’t care when athletes do this,” she assured. “He gave us everything he had on the course and gave us such an entertaining day. I feel for Rory right now and can’t even imagine how he’s feeling. Cut him a break,” she explained.
