CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI football team announced their 2024 home game kickoff times on Friday afternoon for a home slate that features five matchups inside the UNI-Dome this fall.
The Panthers will open the season on August 31 inside the UNI-Dome as they play host to the Valparaiso Beacons. Scheduled for a 4 p.m. CT kick, this will be the first-ever meeting between these two programs. It will be the first time since 2010 (excluding the 2020-21 COVID-19 spring season) that the Panthers have played their first matchup of the season inside the UNI-Dome when they hosted then-no. 21 North Dakota State for the season opener in a 16-9 victory.
After a three-game road stint with matchups including St. Thomas, Nebraska and Hawaii, the Panthers will open the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) schedule at home with an October 5 matchup against the two-time defending FCS national champion South Dakota State Jackrabbits. The family weekend matchup will kick off at 4 p.m. CT and will be the MVFC Game of the Week on MVFC TV.
A two-game road trip precedes the Panthers’ next home game, which features an October 26 matchup against the Missouri State Bears. Meeting the Bears for the final time as MVFC opponents, the game will be played during homecoming weekend at 4 p.m. CT.
A game at North Dakota State is followed by UNI’s fourth home matchup on November 9. The Panthers will play host to the Redbirds of Illinois State for the Panther’s annual Military Appreciation Day and Faculty and Staff Appreciation, as well as Band Day and the annual student scholarship drawing. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. CT.
The final home game of the regular season comes on November 23 when the Panthers will face off with the Sycamores of Indiana State. The 2024 season’s senior day kicks off at 1 p.m. CT inside the UNI-Dome and will wrap up the 2024 regular season of Panther football.
