Perth Airport chaos as fuel issue causes mass cancellations

Must read

Perth Airport has been thrown into chaos with no planes allowed to land or depart as they deal with a significant fuel supply issue.

Nine international and five domestic flights have been cancelled and more cancellations are expected.

A Perth Airport spokesperson confirmed that the aircraft cannot re-fuel due to a problem with load pressure in the fuel lines.

“Perth Airport is experiencing a significant issue with its fuel supply system which is having a major impact on flight operations,” the spokesperson said.

“The issue is causing a lack of pressure in fuel lines and local experts have been working to resolve the issue.

“Aircraft arriving at Perth Airport are currently unable to be refuelled.

“This has already led to the cancellation of nine international flights and five domestic flights.

“Further cancellations are expected and in-bound flights which have not already left their departure points will also be impacted.

“Airlines have been advised not to send aircraft to Perth Airport until further notice unless they have sufficient fuel to make a return flight.

“Passengers are being urged to contact their airlines for information about their flights.

“Perth Airport apologises for the inconvenience to passengers and our airline partners.”
