The latest State of Play is here. This is PlayStation’s Summer showcase, providing updates to new updates on upcoming games and brand new reveals. The 35-minute broadcast features 14 different games, all coming to PS4, PS5, and PC. The following notes are a summary of the event.
Firewalk Studios is first up, with their upcoming game called Concord, announced last year. There’s a character-focused trailer, in addiction to an in-engine trailer. It’s a multiplayer shooter, 5v5. It’ll launch on PS5 and PC on August 23.
God of War Ragnarok is headed to PC. You’ll need a PSN account to play, even on Steam. Releases September 19.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a new game in the series, and it’ll be out on PS5 next year.
The next game is an action RPG where you play a a girl who can turn into a cat. 3D action combat. There’s lots of princesses you can play as. Infinity Nikki, releasing on PS5, with a beta test in Q3 2024.
Another action RPG, called Ballard of Antara, is developed by Tipswork Studio, and has soulslike elements. 2025.
Skydance’s Behemonth is a brand new PSVR2 game. Developed by Skydance. It’s a medieval themed game where you have a grappling hook that you can pull enemies towards you with. There’s also a bow and a sword. Fall 2024.
A second VR game. Alien: Rogue Incursion, coming this holiday.
Marvel and Netease team up for an online team-based shooter with all the Marvel superheroes. Called Marvel Rivals, and it’ll get a closed beta in July 2024.
Everstone Studio is developing what appears to be a soulslike titled Where Winds Meet, with no scheduled launch window.
PlayStation Studios has an Until Dawn remaster set for PlayStation 5 and PC. This Fall.
Path of Exile 2 gets a gameplay trailer, giving a look at some of the classes. This one has couch co-op and crossplay. Comes out in early access late 2024.
The Silent Hill 2 remake gives us a look at the characters and gameplay. It’ll be out October 8th. A more detailed trailer dropped after the State of Play.
Capcom has the stage next. This is Monster Hunter Wilds. There’s all sorts of returning creatures shown off. Comes out 2025.
AstroBot is getting a new title on September 6th, with a high-octane trailer featuring a lot of PlayStation series references.
