Police appeal for info on Albany Highway hit and run

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man in his 30s was allegedly struck by a ute on Albany Highway on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim was at the bus stop on Peels Place next to St Johns Church on York Street when he was approached by another man.

The two engaged in a verbal altercation before the victim left on the bus.

About 12.35pm, the victim was walking along the footpath on Albany Highway near the BP Service Station when he was hit by a vehicle.

The suspect was driving a grey Mitsubishi Triton ute and saw the victim before allegedly swerving towards him and striking him with his car.

The man in his 30s was taken to Albany Health Campus for treatment of minor injuries.

Albany Police are appealing for any dash cam or mobile phone footage, witnesses and information.
