Victoria Police is investigating a wild brawl involving machetes and a firearm outside a shopping centre in Melbourne’s north.
Police say a group of males were involved in the altercation at the Epping Plaza shopping centre on High Street about 8pm on Friday night.
“It is alleged machetes were used and a firearm discharged,” a police spokesperson said.
The group had left by the time police arrived but officers searched the area and later said evidence was found that a firearm had been used.
A short time later, two men attended the Northern Hospital Epping with non-life-threatening injuries.
One of the men is in a stable condition while the other has been transferred to another hospital.
Police say their injuries were thought to have been caused by an edged weapon, such as a machete.
An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is being urged to come forward.
