A gunman remains on the loose after a shooting in the South West.
Tactical Response Group Officers and Bunbury detectives remain on the hunt for 34-year-old Joseph James Horohau Coombe after a firearm incident in Collie on Sunday morning.
Police were called about 8.15am over reports a man had been shot on Clifton Street.
The victim — who is aged in his 30s — suffered gunshot wounds to both his hands and attended Collie Hospital.
His condition remains unknown.
“It is believed the incident involved persons known to each other, and was not a random incident,” police said.
The West understands police have deployed extensive resources to try and catch Mr Coombe as part of their ongoing investigation into the shooting.
However, police on Monday morning said Mr Coombe remains outstanding.
He is described as being 180cm tall, medium build with green eyes and fair-skinned.
It is understood officers from the tactical response group and the police airwing visited properties in Australind and Collie on Sunday, but Mr Coombe was nowhere to be seen. It is believed Mr Coombe was linked to these properties.
He is known to visit Australind, Collie and the South West region, police say.
