A beloved Subiaco beauty clinic has announced the shock closure of its venue after almost seven years.
Despite begging to stay at the busy location, the team at Olive + July has been forced to say “goodbye to their beautiful space”.
“After almost 7 years our lease at our beloved Subiaco Clinic is coming to an end, Although we wish (and have begged) to stay, unfortunately we are unable to continue the lease at this premises,” they said in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
In a statement to PerthNow, Olive + July confirmed the landlord is selling the premises and not looking to extend a lease.
Founder and owner of the clinic, Chloe Sherrell, said the small family business was not prepared to undergo another salon fit-out.
“With having a young child and hopefully expanding our family in the near future, we felt it is not the right time.”
However, it’s not all sad news, with the closure of the Subiaco venue allowing Ms Sherrell to start a new chapter of her life and business.
Olive + July will be relocating to established City Beach boutique B Cosmetics where Ms Sherrell will work as a solo practitioner doing cosmetic tattooing, brow styling, lash lifts and skin treatments.
“Being a mother is my main priority and being able to keep Olive + July going whilst balancing motherhood was important to me as I know the cult following I have built is something special and worth holding onto!” Ms Sherrell told PerthNow.
“So while we cannot stay in our much-loved space, we have chosen a beautiful new home for Olive + July and look forward to what the future holds.”
The team’s last day at the Subiaco location will be June 21 and customers have been invited to celebrate with drinks and nibbles from 5pm that day.
