A popular Australian café will be closing its doors for good after citing the ‘rising operational costs’ as an insurmountable issue.
Slate Cafe, an Instagram hotspot in Bennett Springs, Perth, will cease operations on Sunday 23 June after almost eight years in business.
The beloved pet-friendly café stayed open through the pandemic, road closures and ever-increasing costs of living thus far – but recent complications in rent and raw materials has forced the shock closure.
‘The rising operational costs has made it very challenging for us to continue operating in this current climate, and with all our increasing commitments elsewhere, we have been unable to give Slate Cafe the time and attention it deserves,’ the café runners revealed on Instagram.
Slate Cafe is the latest in a long line of popular Australian restaurants to shut down.
