Prince William will embark on a solo overseas trip to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day with European royals.
The Prince of Wales will join King Frederik of Denmark, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands and King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium for an international ceremony at Omaha Beach, Saint Laurent sur Mur in France on June 6.
The royals will also be joined by 25 heads of state and veterans from around the world.

The day will begin with King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Ministry of Defense and Royal British Legion’s event at the British Normandy Memorial at Ver-sur-Mer.
William, 41, will then attend the Canadian commemorative ceremony at the Juno Beach Centre, Courseulless-sur-Mer.
The Princess of Wales is not expected to join her husband for the trip as she continues cancer treatment.

Catherine, 42, may not return to royal duties until later this year.
King Charles also continues cancer treatment however he has returned to limited duties.
Prince William has continued royal duties with the support of senior working royals as well as non-working royals at several events since Easter.
Princess Anne and the Duke of Gloucester have kept up a busy schedule alongside the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

At a recent Buckingham Palace garden party William was joined by his cousins including Princess Anne’s children Peter Philips and Zara Tindall, Zara’s husband Mike Tindall and the children of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
The British royals enjoy close bond with their European counterparts.
Most recently Princess Anne visited Norway for a three-day trip where she was reunited with her godson, Crown Prince Haakon, the only son of King Harald V and Queen Sonja who is the first in the Norwegian line of succession.
During the trip the royal visited the site of a top secret operation to stop a Nazi bomb known as Operation Gunnerside where she laid flowers at the memorial.
