Monaco may be a small country, but when it comes to F1 racing, it’s long held an outsized influence. The annual Monaco Grand Prix is one of the year’s mostly hotly anticipated events, and so it should come as no surprise that Princess Charlene looked suitably stunning for a gala wrapping up the big race.
For the party, Charlene wore a red, long-sleeved column gown with open shoulders and a silver, sequined upper bodice by Louis Vuitton. The look gave a subtle don to the Monaco flag, which also features a split field of red and white. She paired the gown with a Minaudiere Bijou Clutch, also by LV, and gem-studded button earrings.
Louis Vuitton clearly had her attention for race day—Charlene had also worn the brand earlier in the day to the race itself. On that occasion, she opted for a modern take on the classic pantsuit suit, with a tailored navy jumpsuit with strong shoulders and notched lapels. A longtime fan of the jumpsuit look, Charlene styled the ensemble with two-toned slingback pumps, geometric hoops, and oversized cat-eye sunglasses, all by LV.
For both the race and the gala, Charlene stood alongside her husband, Prince Albert. The couple, who married in 2011, have been presenting a united front at many events over the last several month, following speculation last summer that their marriage was in trouble. At the time, rumors began circulating that the royals were separating, even suggesting that Charlene—who was absent from the public eye for over a year with health-related issues in 2021—was living in Switzerland. Though the palace did not specifically comment on the rumors, Charlene and Albert spent much of the fall making public appearances together which some believed was an attempt to prove their ongoing commitment to their relationship. Earlier this year, Charlene was even spotted wearing her rarely-seen engagement ring.
