Princess Charlene’s daring outfit choice for royal event

Princess Charlene of Monaco has stepped out in a daring Elie Saab ensemble for her latest royal appearance.

Attending Monaco’s 2024 Monte-Carlo Television Festival’s closing ceremony, the royal was dressed in a white silk jumpsuit featuring lace cutouts across her chest and midriff, with a sweeping one-shouldered cape.

Looking ultra-chic, the princess accessorised with pear-shaped drop earrings and matching gold pumps.

The Festival focuses on acknowledging those in the television industry during its famed Golden Nymph Awards ceremony.

Prince Albert II of Monaco attended in a black tuxedo with a bowtie, serving as an honorary president of the Festival and selecting the Prince Rainier III Special Prize.

This accolade was created by Prince Albert in honour of Prince Rainier III, who founded the Festival.

The prize is given in partnership with the Monaco Foundation, giving the laureate €10,000 ($16,128).

It is awarded to the best documentary dealing with environmental issues. Princess Charlene often presents these coveted Golden Nymph Awards to their winners, including the Special Prize.

Princess Charlene attended the Olympic flame torch relay ceremony hours before the ceremony.

According to the Princely Palace of Monaco, the highnesses were accompanied by Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, skier Alexandra Coletti, table tennis player Xiaoxin Yang and bobsleigh pilot Rudy Rinaldi.

Princess Charlene is a former Olympian, having represented South Africa in 2000 during Sydney’s games, finishing fifth in the women’s 4×100m medley.

At the event, she carried the flame in front of the statue of Malizia Palace Square, marking the first passage of the Olympic torch through Monaco in 56 years.

The last time the flame passed through Monaco was in 1968, after the first Monégasque relay, on its way to the Winter Olympics in Grenoble.
