The Brisbane Lions have received a positive boost ahead of Friday night’s clash with the Western Bulldogs.
Defender Brandon Starcevich is expected to play against the Dogs with the club confirming he has overcome a strained calf to be available for selection.
Starcevich injured his calf during the warm-up of the Lions’ Round 8 match against the Gold Coast SUNS which saw him sidelined for a month.
The 24-year-old’s likely return continues an encouraging month for the Lions on the injury front, with the club also welcoming back exciting midfielder-forward Zac Bailey from injury before last week’s bye.
