Race 3 – 2:00PM JAMES SQUIRE PLATE (1250 METRES)
7. Summer Loving won’t get a better chance to break through back into a maiden and in a small field. Wide gates hurt her chances in the spring, she was eye-catching first-up then contested the four legs of the Princess Series. Easy trial winner from the front leading in and is clearly the one to beat.
Dangers: 4. Grassburn found the line quite well late behind Depth Of Character here three weeks ago. Did hit a flat spot in that race but better for the experience around Canterbury and looms as a threat. 5. Khaznah has been placed in all five starts and just found Tartaglia a tough strong at Warwick Farm last time. Gate one gives her every chance to be in the finish again. 6. Madam Instrife is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Invincibella and has won her past three trials, the latest with three months between trial outings. Keep in mind.
How to play it: Summer Loving WIN; Trifecta 7/4,5,6/4,5,6.
Race 4 – 2:35PM DRINKWISE PLATE (1550 METRES)
5. Cheergal didn’t settle the best well when beaten on a heavy track at Kensington then was run down as a solid favourite at Hawkesbury. If that first-up failure wasn’t due to a wet track then she could hit back here.
Dangers: 10. Vivezza had her chance as a short priced favourite at Hawkesbury second-up but perhaps the heavy back to a good track was against her. Finds a soft surface and gate one here so in a winnable race she’s worth another look. 3. Exposition found the line quite nicely with a month between runs when third over a mile at Kembla Grange. Had a few chances and that was his first placing in eight starts but chance to consolidate on that. 4. Lenape Vibe started odds-on at his second start and didn’t show anything at all finishing near the tail. Respect that SP profile and expect improvement.
How to play it: Cheergal WIN.
Race 5 – 3:10PM SCHWEPPES HANDICAP (1900 METRES)
4. Tajawal can be forgiven his second-up run behind Franz Josef in trying conditions, his local debut at Scone was very handy and he was in the market there behind Unusual Legacy. Sharp class drop, draws well and gets out in trip so that should see a platform to produce his best. Each-way.
Dangers: 1. Loco might not be far off a win. Worked home nicely at his Sydney debut at Warwick Farm two weeks ago, his second run at a mile since a year’s break. The extra trip is in his favour and he’s a big threat. 2. Rematch was a bit too strong in a set weights Highway at Rosehill last time and rises 1.5kg for his trouble. Has placed at 2000m and is honest so is hard to leave out of the chances. 6. Monarchs Brae showed a little improvement second-up at Canterbury at his second run at 1550m for the rep. Did win twice over this course back in December, on good ground, and stays under some notice here.
How to play it: Tajawal EACH-WAY.
Race 6 – 3:45PM TAB HANDICAP (1250 METRES)
8. Iron Man has always shown some promise and resumes since September having undergone some airway surgery which explains his second-up failure. He’s trialling strongly and with gate one should get a perfect trail. Good chance in a wide open race.
Dangers: 4. Molly Nails held her ground well when resuming in a stronger race behind Demiana at Warwick Farm two weeks ago. Third horse from that race has since won and she’ll be fitter. Rarely far away and has strong claims. 7. Diamond Model coped well with deteriorating conditions when third at Rosehill behind Cigar Flick first-up. Barrier probably hurts her cause but sure to be running on strongly. 9. Valiancy started favourite in the race won by Demiana at Warwick Farm and she did seem to have every opportunity. Ran well fresh and blinkers go on so she’s entitled to another chance.
How to play it: Iron Man WIN.

Race 7 – 4:20PM HEADWATER @ VINERY STUD HANDICAP (1550 METRES)
1. The Creator is an interesting runner making his Sydney debut. Not seen since winning at Warrnambool over their carnival but did trial well at Rosehill last week. Goes forward which is a plus in this race and any support would be significant.
Dangers: 8. Fairway Star ran a handy race behind Elson Boy at Scone, which has turned out to be a super form race, then never a chance from last at Flemington but did find the line well. If she can find the right spot in the run here she’s a big chance. 4. Fernao is an import from the Neasham stable and he contested quite a strong trial that included I’mintowin, Ha Ha Ha and Eliyass to name a few recently. Favoured by a handy draw and he should be respected, especially if he’s firm in betting. 3. The Little Pumper has been disappointing in two runs back but gets the blinkers on here and from the wide gate should look to lead. It’s been a few runs now since he’s produced his best so probably D-day for him.
How to play it: The Creator WIN.
