What the NFL doesn’t know about the young Rams DL can hurt them, badly (ramblinfan)
“Both Jonah Williams and Aaron Donald combined for 10.0 QB sacks, 102 tackles, and 38 quarterback pressures in 2023. While no one player can match Donald’s ferocity alone, the combination of several rookies could match the aggregate production of both Jonah Williams and Aaron Donald combined.
Kobie Turner and Byron Young combined for 17.0 QB sacks, 118 tackles, and 50 quarterback pressures in 2023. This defense could find similar lofty production from a combination of Jared Verse and Braden Fiske. While that may seem unlikely, keep in mind that the team chose both rookies from the same collegiate defense to ensure that they have already forged a friendship and on-field chemistry.
If the gamble pays off, the team will enjoy nearly 40.0 QB sacks, 100+ QB pressures, and over 240+ tackles just from four of the players rotating on the defensive front. That is not something that any NFL analyst or projection has taken into account.”
Rams News: Sean McVay May Be Key To LA’s Success This Season (si.com)
“On a recent episode of the This is Football podcast, Kevin Clark believes that the Rams’ chances to win this season fall on one person. He believes that head coach Sean McVay is the key to the success of Los Angeles this season.
“Rams might win the Super Bowl and can win the Super Bowl.” Clark states, “They have a top three coach and they have a good quarterback, who was throwing darts last year and the roster is pretty good. Sean McVay dragged a really young team to a bunch of wins last year. I understand the Aaron Donald thing is going to hurt, but I really believe Sean McVay can a work miracles.”
Stetson Bennett opens up about self-doubts, ‘was scared’ he wouldn’t be good enough for Rams (ramswire)
“In the last couple of months, Bennett has spoken a bit about his time away from football, most recently on the “UNRESERVED with TJ Callaway” podcast. Toward the end of this week’s episode, Bennett discussed the doubts he had about himself, wondering if he could make it in the NFL.
“Going to Georgia, it was less so about being on the team,” he said. “It was like, ‘Ok, well I want to see if I can be the quarterback. I want to see if I’m good enough to do that.’ Kind of the same way now with the Rams. I kind of just want to see if someone beats me.”
Bennett told Callaway that last year, he was worried he wouldn’t be what the Rams needed him to be, questioning his own ability despite being a fourth-round pick in the draft.”
