Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, July 6th 2024
Race 2: Robrick Lodge Eremein BM72 1300m – 11:40am (AEST)
(2) Until Valhalla $3.00: 3YO filly who was very impressive last start on the heavy winning by 3L and big gaps to the others. She remains at BM72 grade here and doesn’t need to lug any more weight. Gets pole position which should allow her to roll forward and give the others something to chase again. Beat EMMADELLA and NANSHE who have both since gone on to win which makes this filly look very hard to beat here. Almost a month between runs, so expecting her to be ready to roll on again after that previous heavy deck performance. Looks hard to beat here.
(4) Manwe $14: Resuming 3YO who is Kementaris only son. Won well on debut, but has struggled since. Market has moved somewhat which shows he may be back to his best here.
(5) Lady Boss $4.00: Nice little resume for this 3YO filly and won well last start over the heavy track. Rises in class now, but likes it wet. Worth thought.
Race 5: Task BM78 2000m 1:25pm (AEST)
(1) Fengarada $10/$3.00: Looks to be one of the roughies of the day here. Gets in nicely with a 3kg claim and boasts a terrific 6 wins from 7 runs on the heavy track and is very good when third up. Expect a bold run here and if he is anywhere near his best he wins. Over the odds.
(2) Age Of Sail $4.50: 5yo out of frankel who hasn’t run too many bad races. Rawiller for Lees here which must be respected. Untested on the wet tracks the query.
(7) Strathtay $4.50: Won by 3.5L last start over this trip on the heavy. Will only be fitter for this run, but will lug an extra 3kg off that run. Worthy of another crack.
Race 8: James Squire Winter Stakes 1400m 3:15pm (AEST)
(9) Junipal $14.00/$3.70: Wet tracker who is fourth up and generally runs a nice race when fourth up. Three back was super over 1400m carrying 62kg. Needs to find best form, but tends to do so on the heavy track and gets a nice draw with low weight. Over the odds?
(3) Iknowastar $2.60: Favourite of the race who hasn’t missed the trifecta in any of his last six outings. Drops back to 1400m which looks ideal now where he is 3 from 4. Prefer him on the good deck, but capable of a nice race when wet. Draws well and gets a top jockey on board. The one to beat.
(1) Tamerlane $10.00/$2.90: Disappointing last start and excuses of the heavy track being a factor was the blame. We know he is a talented horse but needs to improve and sees another heavy track here. Best is good enough.
