Bombers name side for Country Game at the ‘G.
Essendon has named its side to face Geelong in the annual Country Game on Saturday night.
The Bombers are bolstered by the inclusion of forward Jade Gresham for his 150th career game, while Todd Goldstein also returns to partner Sam Draper in the ruck after being managed as a late out last week.
After coming in as Goldstein’s replacement last week, Nate Caddy has been omitted for Saturday night’s encounter, with Jye Menzie also out of the side.
Round 16 marks a special occasion for the Dons, with club champion Dyson Heppell set to suit up for his 250th career game alongside Gresham’s own milestone and the Country Round festivities.
Heppell and the Bombers will be keen to follow up from last week’s effort as they seek a first win over Geelong since 2018.
The Dons and Cats square off from the MCG at 7:30pm on Saturday night.
