Real Housewives of New York City star Kelly Bensimon has revealed the reason why she decided to call off her wedding with just four days to go.
The reality star made headlines and sent shockwaves after cancelling her lavish nuptials with three wedding dresses and two different ceremonies just days before she was about to say “I Do”.
Now she says there was a good reason for the last-minute cancellation.

The 56-year-old decided to split from her fiancé Scott Litner, who works as a wealth management consultant, after he refused to sign a pre-nuptial agreement, which immediately struck Bensimon as “the ultimate red flag.”
“I haven’t come this far in business and life to start making poor decisions because of a man,” the told Us.
“He of all people should have understood the need to protect each other before we tied the knot. I’m truly shocked he refused a prenup.”

Bensimon said that Litner “thought that I would enter this union without legal protections in place, that I would leave everything to faith.”
The news of the cancellation broke out yesterday, with Bensimon first “taking a moment to herself” before explaining the situation, her representative told US.
She then explained through her representative, “Kelly is disappointed by this turn of events. She was looking forward to an exciting new chapter in her life together with Scott when everything became clear to her late on Tuesday afternoon.”

Bensimon had earlier told Page Six, who first reported the story, “I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I won’t be moving forward with this wedding.”
She and Litner had first gotten engaged on the fourth of July weekend in 2023 while vacationing in Lake Geneva, Wisconson.
They had planned to have two wedding ceremonies, beginning with a smaller one at Litner’s mother’s home in Boston this weekend, and were planning a bigger one in the Hamptons for their friends and family to enjoy at a later date.

The reality star had just gotten back from a mini bachelorette trip in Jamaica, staying at Sandals Dunn’s River with her two daughters Sea, 26, and Teddy, 24, who she shares with her ex-husband, fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon.
