Lieutenant colonel Suzanne Stevenson from the Papua New Guinea Solomon Islands Salvation Army said this event was used to raise funds for a worthy cause.
“We say thank you to our sponsors for this year’s event as we raise money for social services like our reintegration, social justice, Houses of Hope in Ela Beach and Kainantu and for our literacy programs among others.”
She said this year’s event marks six years of hosting this charitable event and has done a great impact towards communities and social activities that include youths and children as well.
“Our objectives is to target our literacy programme around the country where people in our church get to learn a lot more through literacy skills.
“About 60 churches are currently running these programme nationwide and with the funds raised from here it will go a long way with our programme,” she added.
