You may not turn to Travel Guides as the expert advice for your next holiday, but across seven seasons they have some spots they agree are top of their list -and others they are unlikely to visit again.
The Cook Islands is the only destination to receive a clean sweep of 5 stars from all the cast, a perfect score of of 25 /25 stars.
Finland and the Kimberley in WA were next at 24, making the latter the highest rated Australian destination.
Peru, Florida, The Whitsundays and European Cruise all scored 23.5 stars.
At 23 stars were New Zealand, South Africa (S6), Vanuatu, and the Flinders Ranges.
The lowest ranked destination was Western Australia at 15 stars, including just 1 star from Kevin & Janetta. In a separate episode Mel & Stack also gave Sydney 1 star, ouch!
In rating their destinations it’s worth bearing in mind there can be contra deals, so it’s not a great look if the show delivers a dud review. Travel Guides is also upbeat armchair travel, so it’s hardly going to be full of places not to visit.
NB: Season One also has to be assessed separately as there were six teams reviewing, not five, with Oman coming out on top.
