Local trainer Brett Robb is set to be a major force at Sunday’s Dubbo meeting with 10 runners representing the stable.
Robb will open the day with a three-pronged attack on the Dubbo Rhino Lodge Country Boosted Maiden Handicap (1400m).
He will have Star Intrigue (Aaron Bullock), Poisen Point (Georgina McDonnell) and Harrietier (Shayleigh Ingelse) contesting the event, with Poisen Point being a two-year-old filly taking on the older horses. Poisen Point hit the line well to finish a close second at Dubbo at her latest start.
Robb has Air Combat (McDonnell) and Body Of Venus (Patrick Scorse) in the Dubbo RSL Health & Fitness Maiden Plate (1100m).
The trainer then links with apprentice Shannen Llewellyn when 2023 Country Championships winner Sizzle Minizzle tackles the Dubbo RSL Motel Benchmark 82 Handicap (1600m).
Sizzle Minizzle finished fourth and sixth respectively in the WRA Country Championships and Northern Country Championships Wild Card earlier this year, and since then he ran third in the Wellington Cup before failing as favourite at Wagga, and then failed again at Dubbo last time out after racing wide and in a forward position before dropping out.
Llewellyn will also partner with Robb when she rides D’arpano in the Dubbo RSL Club Winter Country Classic Final Benchmark 58 Handicap (1300m).

She rounds out the day on the Robb pair of Castlebar Road and Equivocal in the North Dubbo RSL Sporties Country Boosted Benchmark 66 Handicap (1000m) and Elite Sand & Soil/Evergreen Turf Class 1 Handicap (1100m) respectively.
Robb will also saddle up Bliss (McDonnell) when it lines up against stablemate Castlebar Road.
Mudgee trainer Mack Griffith will make the trip to Dubbo with three chances, headed by first starter Nomorenightshift in the third event to be ridden by in-form Ashley Morgan.
