“To my chookstituants, I say chicken is the people’s Twistie,” Irwin says in the ad.

“Repping Team Chicken in Twisties great flavour debate was not on my 2024 bingo card!” he said.

“But when Twisties calls, you answer. So let’s bring it home for chicken and prove ‘Team Cheese’ wrong!”

However, not all the wildlife warrior’s fans were supportive of his promotional efforts.

“How you gonna say you’re a conservationist and then promote a product that is made with chicken fat and milk? Make it make sense, bro,” one fan wrote.

“Why are pushing for chicken if you are such an animal lover? No animals have to die for cheese,” another said.

Other followers saw humour in the playful ad.

“’Sorry Bindi’, I’m crying,” one fan wrote, while another said, “This is hilarious. The ‘Sorry Bindi’ took me out (made me laugh).”

According to a number of outlets, Irwin reportedly pocketed $200,000 for the ad.

The son of Steve Irwin is also appearing in a television commercial for Google, as he turns to the tech giant’s apps to help him make his first cocktail.
