Updated June 22 with updated discounts and additional details on new Galaxy AI features.
If you are looking to buy a new Galaxy S24 Ultra handset, then Samsung has a new offer to tempt you.
Samsung’s premium Galaxy S24 Ultra handset was announced in January, and since then, the S24 family has become one of the best-selling smartphone ranges Samsung has seen. Yet the South Korean company has continued to push special offers, discounts, and free accessories to keep sales high.
A recently announced deal offers UK customers the chance to not only buy the Galaxy S24 Ultra but also pick up a free Galaxy Watch6 as part of the package.
This is not the only discount on offer. Samsung is offering £200 cashback after purchase, although you will have to claim this as a separate transaction and meet other criteria listed on the Samsung Cashback website.
Then, you can trade in an existing smartphone for an additional discount. This depends on the model and condition; the company is quoting up to £395 on a Galaxy Z Fold4.
Finally, you have the free Galaxy Watch6, which will be added to your basket at checkout. The WearOS-powered smartwatch is a great companion for the S24 Ultra, but anyone considering this offer should be aware that Samsung is expected to launch the new Galaxy Watch7 range at next month’s Galaxy Unpacked event.
Update: Saturday June 22.
Samsung has confirmed another discount available for those buying a new Galaxy S24 Ultra before the end of the month.
If customers use the Samsung Shop app, they can add the code APP24 when checking out for a further ten per cent discount on their basket. With the Galaxy S24 Ultra costing between £1249 and £1549 here in the UK, that’s up to £155 discount available through the Shop app, on top of the £200 cashback and up to £395 via the trade-in program.
Would you believe there’s more? Tucked away at the bottom of the page is an option to save thirty per cent when purchasing a set of Galaxy Buds true wireless earbuds alongside your new Galaxy smartphone. As with the Galaxy Watch6 on offer, Samsung is expected to launch a new range of Galaxy Buds at July’s Galaxy Unpacked event.
Update: Sunday June 23: While the Galaxy S24 Ultra is coming up on its six-month birthday (that’s nearly middle-aged for a smartphone’s market life), Samsung will not be “leaving it behind” during the launch of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Alongside the two foldable handsets will be an updated version of Samsung’s Android-based OneUI operating system.
Samsung will include the first major update to Galaxy AI as part of that update. As well as general optimisations and improvements for the existing AI features, the South Korean company is expected to expand the generative AI capabilities in the image editing software; one such feature will be in-painting, allowing users to change the style of an entire image, or generatively edit a small section of the image.
These updates will be backported to the Galaxy S24 platform and available for free. If you pick up the S24 Ultra during the current offering, you can expect all the new bells and whistles in Galaxy AI at no extra cost.
The upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event will launch two new smartphones, namely the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, but these are both foldable devices. Unless there is a surprise in store, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will remain Samsung’s premium candybar phone.
