Sione Katoa takes back his spot on the wing after sitting out following a head knock. Siosifa Talakai’s suspension also sees Teig Wilton slot into the back row with Jesse Colquhoun and Braden Hamlin-Uele joining the bench alongside Toby Rudolf.

SATURDAY

Gold Coast Titans v Parramatta Eels, 5:30pm AEST at Cbus Super Stadium

Titans team: 1. Keano Kini 2. Alofiana Khan-Pereira 3. Brian Kelly 4. Beau Fermor 5. Jojo Fifita 6. Jayden Campbell 7. Kieran Foran 8. Josiah Pahulu 9. Sam Verrills 10. Erin Clark 11. David Fifita 12. Klese Haas 13. Chris Randall 14. Isaac Liu 15. Jacob Alick-Wiencke 16. Keenan Palasia 17. Phillip Sami 18. AJ Brimson 19. Joe Stimson 20. Tanah Boyd 21. Iszac Fa’asumaleaui 22. Jaylan De Groot

Analysis: Huge boost for the Gold Coast with live wire Jayden Campbell back in the line up at five-eighth after recovering from a hand injury. AJ Brimson was close to returning against the Sharks last week from a groin injury but coach Des Hasler erred on the side of caution. Brimson has been named as 18th man this week but could come into the side during the week. Exciting front rower Josiah Pahulu will start with Mo Fotuaikia in Queensland camp. Outside back Phillip Sami has had a tough year with injuries and has been unable to build any rhythm. He’ll come off the bench against the Eels. Promising back rower Klese Haas is back in the side after missing time with a foot injury.

Eels team: 1. Clinton Gutherson 2. Jake Tago 3. Viliami Penisini 4. Blaize Talagi 5. Lorenzo Mulitalo 6. Dylan Brown 7. Daejarn Asi 8. Reagan Campbell-Gillard 9. Brendan Hands 10. Joe Ofahengaue 11. Ryan Matterson 12. Matt Doorey 13. Charlie Guymer 14. Matthew Arthur 15. Shaun Lane 16. Luca Moretti 17. Bryce Cartwright 18. Makahesi Makatoa 19. Isaac Lumelume 20. Joey Lussick 21. Morgan Harper 22. Wiremu Greig

Analysis: With Mitch Moses in Origin camp, Daejarn Asi has been named as Parramatta halfback. Sean Russell has been dropped, with rising star Blaize Talagi shifting from wing to centre. Lorenzo Mulitalo, brother of Sharks flyer Ronaldo, will be the second debutant on the wing for the Eels in as many weeks after Jake Tago was blooded against the Rabbitohs. Junior Paulo will miss the rest of the season with a foot injury. Luca Moretti takes his place on the bench. Charlie Guymer made a huge impression on debut against Souths and the Temora product has been rewarded with a starting spot in just his second NRL game. He’ll wear jersey No. 13.

Brisbane Broncos v St George-Illawarra Dragons, 7:35pm AEST at Suncorp Stadium

Broncos team: 1. Tristan Sailor 2. Corey Oates 3. Kotoni Staggs 4. Deine Mariner 5. Jesse Arthars 6. Ezra Mam 7. Joshua Rogers 8. Corey Jensen 9. Billy Walters 10. Xavier Willison 11. Brendan Piakura 12. Jordan Riki 13. Tyson Smoothy 14. Blake Mozer 15. Kobe Hetherington 16. Josiah Karapani 17. Martin Taupau 18. Vaa Semu 19. Cory Paix 20. Israel Leota

Analysis: Brisbane have a new halfback in Josh Rogers, who takes the reigns from the injured Jock Madden. Xavier Willison started at lock last weekend but he’ll move into the front row with Payne Haas in Blues camp. Reece Walsh and Pat Carrigan will also be missing, with Tristan Sailor the fullback while Tyson Smoothy will start at lock forward. Kotoni Staggs is back on deck after missing a week. He and Deine Mariner are Brisbane’s two centres. Exciting hooker Blake Mozer is set to make his first NRL appearance of the season via the interchange bench. Jordan Riki returns from suspension.

Dragons team: 1. Tyrell Sloan 2. Christian Tuipulotu 3. Moses Suli 4. Max Feagai 5. Mikaele Ravalawa 6. Kyle Flanagan 7. Jesse Marschke 8. Francis Molo 9. Jacob Liddle 10. Jack de Belin 11. Raymond Faitala-Mariner 12. Jaydn Su’A 13. Tom Eisenhuth 14. Hame Sele 15. Luciano Leilua 16. Toby Couchman 17. Ben Murdoch-Masila 18. Jack Bird 19. Savelio Tamale 20. Fa’amanu Brown 21. Ryan Couchman 22. Michael Molo

Analysis: The in-form Raymond Faitala-Mariner missed the Roosters loss due to back spasms but will return and start in the back row. That pushes Luicano Leilua to the pine. Jesse Marschke was good at halfback in a win over Penrith in Ben Hunt’s absence earlier in the season. He’s been called upon again to wear the No.7 jersey with Hunt on Origin duty. Mikaele Ravalawa returns after a suspension for dissent. He replaces Blues star Zac Lomax on the wing. Jack Bird is 18th man after a successful comeback last weekend in NSW Cup.

SUNDAY

Manly Sea Eagles v Newcastle Knights, 4:05pm AEST at 4 Pines Park

Manly team: 1. Tom Trbojevic 2. Jason Saab 3. Tommy Talau 4. Reuben Garrick 5. Lehi Hopoate 6. Luke Brooks 7. Jamie Humphreys 8. Toafofoa Sipley 9. Jake Simpkin 10. Josh Aloiai 11. Haumole Olakau’atu 12. Karl Lawton 13. Nathan Brown 14. Clayton Faulalo 15. Gordon Chan Kum Tong 16. Ethan Bullemor 17. Corey Waddell 18. Caleb Navale 19. Aaron Schoupp 20. Dean Matterson 21. Ben Condon 22. Aitasi James

Analysis: Tom Trbojevic’s stint in the centres was very short-lived, with the injury to Tolu Koula forcing Anthony Seibold to name Turbo at fullback. Koula is set to miss up to six weeks with a knee injury. The exciting Lehi Hopoate, who played well at fullback when Trbojevic was sidelined with a hamstring injury, will start on the wing. One of the more intriguing additions this week is Jamie Humphreys being named at halfback. The promising playmaker has impressed in NSW Cup and is now set to make his NRL debut with Daly Cherry-Evans on Origin duties. Karl Lawton and Nathan Brown come into the starting side with Jake (Origin duties) and Ben Trbjojevic (head knock) out. Cult hero Gordon Chan Kum Tong will come off the bench alongside Clayton Faulalo who makes his NRL debut, Ethan Bullemor and Corey Waddell.

Knights team: 1. Fletcher Sharpe 2. Krystian Mapapalangi 3. Dylan Lucas 4. Thomas Cant 5. Greg Marzhew 6. Will Pryce 7. Jackson Hastings 8. Daniel Saifiti 9. Phoenix Crossland 10. Leo Thompson 11. Tyson Frizell 12. Kai Pearce-Paul 13. Adam Elliott 14. Jayden Brailey 15. Jacob Saifiti 16. Brodie Jones 17. Mathew Croker 18. Jack Hetherington 19. Jack Cogger 20. Kyle McCarthy 21. Riley Jones 22. Thomas Jenkins

Analysis: For the first time all season, Newcastle have State of Origin representatives with Dane Gagai, Kalyn Ponga and Bradman Best recalled by the Maroons and Blues for Game III. To make matters worse for coach Adam O’Brien, winger Enari Tuala has been sidelined with a calf injury. Fletcher Sharpe replaces Ponga at the back, Dylan Lucas and 22-year-old Tom Cant comes into the side at centre for Best and Gagai while Krystian Mamapalangi takes Tuala’s spot on the flank. It will be just Cant’s second NRL game after debuting in 2023. Phoenix Crossland will start at hooker after missing one game with a head knock. Adam Elliott is back in the side, pushing Mat Croker to the bench.
