Award-winning Sky News host Sharri Markson has been moved to tears in an emotional reaction to new Sky News documentary ‘Never Again: The Fight Against Antisemitism’. 

Sky News host Sharri Markson shares her reaction to the “devastating” ‘Never Again: The Fight Against Antisemitism’ documentary.

“Did anyone watch that without tearing up? That was a powerful and brilliant piece of documentary journalism,” Ms Markson said.

“We sit here each night horrified at what has happened that day … seeing young Jewish business owners suffer, seeing school children unable to play sport, it all just hits home, it is devastating.”

On Tuesday night former treasurer Josh Frydenberg presented the landmark Sky News documentary examining the alarming rise of antisemitism in Australia following the devastating attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023.  

In the documentary, available to stream now with a SkyNews.com.au Streaming Subscription, Frydenberg spoke with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, former prime ministers John Howard and Julia Gillard, Olympic champion and former senator Nova Peris, former governor-general Peter Cosgrove, award-winning Australian music artist Deborah Conway and survivors of the Holocaust.

Speaking through tears, Sharri Markson a Jewish Australian – expressed her gratitude to Sky News and Josh Frydenberg as she praised the documentary premiere.

“Did anyone watch that without tearing up, without become very emotional at these shocking times?

“That was a powerful and brilliant piece of documentary.

“Josh Frydenberg tonight deserves a huge congratulations and heartfelt thanks for giving months and months of his time and his enormous energy into putting this documentary together and in putting the issue of antisemitism at the very centre of our public debate.” 

She said “the most powerful” segment to air in the documentary was “the message of warning” from the Holocaust survivors who she said have “lived through the worst evil humanity has ever seen”.

“Their warning should make every politician in this country and especially the Prime Minister take a long hard look in the mirror,” she said.

“They need to ask themselves what more they can do to deal with this explosion in racism against Jews.”

In a powerful show of support for the fight against racism inour nation, the multi-award-winning journalist called for the documentary to be shown “at every school in the country”.

“It should be compulsory viewing for the Greens party, for University Chancellors,” she said.
