A viral ‘gnome’ has left a shopping centre in fear as vendors put up ‘no gnomes’ signs to prevent a social media user from entering the stores as a cape-wearing creature
A shopping centre has been left with no choice but to install a “no gnomes” sign as a TikTok sensation keeps visiting the store.
Social media user @Crawly_Possessed has taken the social media app by storm with his sprints through fast food chains and department stores. Dressed as a green gnome and hobbling through the public places, Crawly has since gone viral and been featured on the stage with musician Oliver Tree.
Members of the public were delighted with the antics of the green gnome and further elated by the introduction of a knight which would vanquish the content creator from stores across the country. But the shopping centre itself is less than impressed.
One user took a photograph of the sign seemingly barring Crawly from the store, writing: “The locals in the mall where the wizard guy (Crawly) films his tiktoks, started putting these signs.” But it was soon revealed to be part of a promotion, with brands jumping on the social media trend.
In this case a MAC company was parodying the viral creator with their own version of the gnome, banishing a makeup pen dressed as a gnome from the store. Yet Twitter /X users are hoping to see Crawly appear alongside the sign in his gnome costume. One wrote: “I wanna see a vid where he walks up to the sign, shakes his wand angrily and then walks away.”
It comes as another user shared one of the many viral TikToks from Crawly and says members of the public have “started fighting back”. The clip showed the gnome character being shoved, along with his cameraman, out of the store. Members of the public are split on Crawly’s antics, who has since been featured with viral creator IShowSpeed.
One wrote: “He has been harassing this mall FOR MONTHS.” Another wrote: “I find this funnier than the OG. The way they walk him out like a toddler.”
