Six teenagers charged after man allegedly threatened at shopping centre

Six teenagers have been charged after a man was allegedly threatened with a knife and a person was injured with a rock at a South Australian shopping centre.

Police were called to the Arndale Shopping Centre in Kilkenny at 1.30pm today after reports a group of young people were threatening a man.

Officers said two of the teenagers were allegedly carrying knives at the time.

Police tracked six people from the shopping centre to nearby Humphries Terrace.

Police said one of the young people also allegedly threw a rock, hitting a person in the chin and caused a minor injury.

All six youths have been charged with aggravated affray.

The youths charged include a 14-year-old boy from Athol Park, a 14-year-old boy from Munno Park, a 16-year-old boy from Pennington, a 14-year-old boy from Mansfield Park, a 13-year-old boy from Mansfield Park and a 14-year-old boy from Munno Para West.

Three of the boys have also been charged with aggravated assault.

Two of them have also been charged with carrying an offensive weapon.

The shopping centre was unable to provide 9News with a comment when approached.

The alleged incident comes days after Westfield Marion shopping centre went into lockdown.
