It has been four years since the last Sizzler restaurant closed its doors, believed to be for good, but the Aussie favourite is making a comeback for one night only.
The franchise originated in California in the 1950s and became a national icon in Australia when it’s first local restaurant opened its doors in the Brisbane suburb of Annerley in 1985.
Now, people will be able to get their cheesy toast and potato skins hit once more with a Brisbane Coffee Club transforming into a pop-up Sizzler tonight.

Today reporter Kendall Gilding was outside the location this morning and said excitement was already building for tonight’s special event.
“There are actually signage experts here now going to work so it will have all the trimmings of the original restaurant as it transforms for 80 lucky diners who are going to be given the chance to relive all the Sizzler nostalgia,” she said.
The idea stemmed from Brisbane KIIS FM radio hosts, Robin and Kip, putting the call out on air for a Sizzler return and the real deal restaurant and staff are officially teaming up with the Coffee Club for the occasion.

Plenty of people have tried to recreate Sizzler’s legendary cheesy toast recipe over the years, but those lucky enough to score a seat at the event by listening to KIIS FM will finally get their fix.
Staff have been working for weeks to recreate all those iconic dishes, to make sure they taste exactly like the originals and the wait will finally end for those lucky diners tonight at 6pm.
