Sobha begins construction of shopping centre for Hartland community in Dubai

Must read

Sobha Realty has initiated the development of an exclusive shopping centre within its premier Sobha Hartland community in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

With an investment of Dh210m ($57.16m), the project aims to integrate retail offerings with the tranquillity of a park setting, designed to enhance the experience for both residents and visitors.

This initiative represents Sobha Realty’s strategic entry into the retail market in the UAE, underscoring its pledge to deliver superior residential experiences.

The forthcoming centre is being designed to ‘redefine’ the concept of a high-end shopping destination, marrying elements of nature, culture, and leisure.

It is being designed with consumer convenience and modern demands in mind.

Spanning a built-up area of approximately 339,000ft² with a gross leasable area of nearly 115,000ft², the development will provide numerous on-site facilities such as a supermarket, fitness centre, sports courts, children’s play zones, an array of dining establishments, and sufficient parking facilities.

Specifically, it will host 35 retail and food and beverage units along with more than ten eateries, positioning itself as a culinary hub for the locality.

Sobha Realty is incorporating eco-friendly practices into the centre’s design by adding plant life, water elements, solar energy panels, eco-conscious building materials, natural illumination, and energy-saving lighting solutions.

The use of advanced technology such as interactive displays and smart lighting systems aims to further enrich the visitor experience.

Architecturally unique features will be present throughout the centre, including an eye-catching bowl with a cascading gap from the ground floor up to the ceiling for an engaging shopping environment.

Completion of the centre is forecast for the second half (H2) of 2026.
