Haz-had his moment
Eden Hazard opened the scoring for Soccer Aid in style, with a curling free-kick from the left-hand side of the penalty area into the bottom left corner past David James.
He has shown some bright sparks throughout the game, and that trademark Belgian Brilliance has certainly been on display.
What an event and what an occasion.
The most impressive so far
Danny Dyer has absolutely stolen the show here at Soccer Aid so far.
The ex-EastEnder had the hardest job of the night up against Eden Hazard, but has put in an absolute masterclass, just as Gary Cahill told us he would.
He has put in a number of crunching, but fair, tackles on the magisterial Belgian, and has handled him brilliantly.
It hasn’t been perfect, he is Danny Dyer remember, as he let Alessandro Del Piero stroll through on goal to make it 2-1.
Sorry, can you just read that again?
2024, you have rocked my world.
HALF-TIME England 2-2 World XI
HT. Half-time here now as the referee calls the first half to a close after a great sliding tackle from Tom Grennan to deny Micheal Ward from getting on the end of an Eden Hazard backheel pass.
WHAT A HALF OF FOOTBALL.
