Coach Graham Arnold revealed that we would see nine different starters tonight, representing the perfect opportunity to add to squad depth for the Socceroos.
Speaking to the press in Perth, Arnold spoke at his happiness of his broader squad:
“When I first started five, six years ago, if you put the starting 11 against the reserves, it could have been two or three nil for the starting 11,” Arnold said.
“Whereas I think these days the starting 11 against the subs, it’s 0-0, it’s a tough game.”
There should be a debut for Newcastle’s Apostolos Stamatelopoulos tonight from bench. Assandro Circati and Cameron Burgess will start as centre backs in front of his family and friends in Perth.
