Three members of one family killed in a car and truck crash on a Queensland highway have been identified.
Steven Wheeler, 54, and his elderly parents Margaret, 81, and Robert Wheeler, 84, died when their car collided with a B-double truck on the D’Aguilar Hwy at Nanango, northwest of Brisbane, about 5.50am on Thursday.
All three suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

A 52-year-old man behind the wheel of the truck was “very lucky” to escape with minor injuries and was taken to Kingaroy Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing, Acting Inspector Brett Everest said.
He said he would not “make presumptions” about the cause of the crash, but said the road would have been wet.
Queensland Ambulance Service reported there had been “heavy fog” in the area at the time of the crash.
“The message would be that everyone needs to drive to the conditions… whether it’s nighttime, wet roads, foggy roads,” Everest said.
He said the family of the three victims, who all came from the nearby town of Booie, had been told of their deaths.
7NEWS spoke to family members on Thursday who were too grief-stricken to talk publicly.
“It’ll have a resonating effect with the local community,” Everest said.
The highway remained closed all day, with local diversions put in place, as forensic officers searched the area.
