West Indies vs South Africa, Super 8 T20 WC Live Score: South Africa’s left-arm seamer Tabraiz Shamsi delivered a magnificent bowling performance, taking 3/27 to restrict West Indies to 135/8 in their crucial Super Eight clash at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. The winner of this match will secure a semifinal berth in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

South Africa’s skipper, Aiden Markram, won the toss and opted to bowl first. The West Indies opening pair, Kyle Mayers and Shai Hope, had a shaky start. Left-arm seamer Marco Jansen struck early, dismissing Hope for just one run on the third ball of the match.

Nicholas Pooran, the next batter in, was sent back by Markram on the first ball of the second over, leaving the West Indies reeling. At the end of the powerplay (6 overs), the West Indies were 47/2, with Roston Chase (21) and Mayers (19) at the crease. The duo managed to complete a 50-run partnership in the eighth over, but the team’s progress remained cautious.

West Indies lost their third wicket in the 12th over when Mayers, who scored 35 runs off 34 balls with three fours and two sixes, was dismissed, making the score 86/3. Rovman Powell followed soon after in the 13th over, leaving the team at 89/4.

Chase, who reached his half-century in 39 balls, was the key performer for the West Indies. However, his dismissal in the 16th over by Shamsi, after scoring 52 runs off 42 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes, was a significant blow to the hosts. Andre Russell, who came in after the fall of the fifth wicket, tried to stabilize the innings but was run out in the 18th over after a quick 15 runs off 9 balls, including two sixes.

Akeal Hosein, who followed Chase, managed to hit a boundary, bringing the team’s score to 100. However, he was dismissed for six runs in the same over by Kagiso Rabada.

The West Indies ended their innings at 135/8 in 20 overs. Apart from Shamsi’s brilliant spell, Marco Jansen, Markram, Keshav Maharaj, and Rabada each claimed a wicket in their respective spells.

Brief Score: West Indies 135/8 in 20 overs (Roston Chase 52, Kyle Mayers 35, Tabraiz Shamsi 3/27) vs South Africa.
