Spending Father’s Day on the golf course

Must read

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Father’s Day comes just once a year, and while you can celebrate your Dad any day, it’s especially important to let him know just how much he means to you on the one day set aside just for him.

This year many chose to give Dad the gift he really wants this Father’s Day, quality time! And that quality time was well spent on the golf course.

Ty Renolds of Ludlow said, “More important than any material thing by far for sure. I don’t need anything. Just just hang out.”

While a handwritten sentiment or thoughtful gesture is always sweet, the best gift of all is time spent with loved ones. Mike O’Neill, the director of the Chicopee Country Club telling 22news the game of golf has been an avenue for bonding for him and his father Robert.

Mike O’Neill told 22News, “I think just through the years a lot of sons learn from their fathers how to play golf and they’re out here on the perfect day today to kind of celebrate the holiday and celebrate together.”

Golf and Father’s Day go hand in hand. It’s tradition for many families because it can be a way for fathers and their children to bond and share experiences.

O’Neill added, “It means the world I think both of us I mean it you know it’s like I said you work together but get out and enjoy yourself and spend time together and just be with each other. It’s a gift that keeps on giving.”

Generations have found common ground and built lasting connections through golf. Fathers like Robert have passed down the love of the game their children and on days like this they get to do it together.

O’Neill says, “Just enjoy enjoy the time that they have with each other. You know because life is too short and enjoy every second of it and even though it’s Father’s Day today, you should enjoy every moment of your life like that.”
